Despite Taiwan’s implementation of three key gender equality acts over the past two decades, challenges persist in STEM academia, education, and professional practices. This talk examines real-world examples and how stereotyping and biases manifest and compromise the potential of STEM fields. Looking forward, we explore actionable strategies for fostering a more inclusive future. The presentation underscores how universities can lead by cultivating friendly environments and empowering students to become compassionate, engaged STEM professionals. Structured frameworks like “Gender Innovation” and narrative-based approaches, such as story sharing, offer practical tools to transform STEM into a kinder, more responsive field that supports society’s continuous transformation.
