Time:1121129 (Wed.) 14:20~16:20 Speaker:Prof.齋藤理一郎(Riichiro Saito) 日本東北大學大學院理學研究科/Graduate School of Science and Faculty of Science, Tohoku University, Japan ; Chair Professor of Phy-NTNU Title:Ten Stories of Graphene, A Two-Dimensional Material Abstract: It is my great honor to be selected as a Yushan Fellow (玉山學者) from Nov. 1st 2023 to Oct. 31st 2026. I sincerely hope that through the three years of teaching and research at the Department of Physics, National Taiwan Normal University, many scientific achievements and collaborations will be generated with you in any institutions in Taiwan. We welcome your suggestions for lectures, mini-classes, and workshops that we can organize. I would also welcome your presentation in a seminar, discussions in English with active graduate students and young researchers, and with playing sports (especially those who can play-and-teach pingpang 30 min every day for health. I am not a good player at all). Graphene is a material consisting of only one atomic layer of carbon atoms. Although the concept of graphene has existed for 80 years, it was not until 20 years ago that graphene was actually obtained and studied. Graphene, along with related two-dimensional materials, is attracting attention for a next-generation semiconductor device. This general talk covers 10 stories about graphene for both undergraduate students and researchers. (Japanese version of this talk was given on July 1st, 2023 for Online-Physics-Lecture series organized by Japan Physical Society) Web: https://en.ntnu.edu.tw/gongguan-campus.php#tab-1 e-mail: r.saito.sendai@gmail.com Place:S102, Gongguan Campus, NTNU |
