Title:Squeezing Light into the Attosecond and EUV Regimes
Abstract:
Attosecond science aims to probe electron motion on its natural timescale using coherent extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) light. In this talk, I will introduce how our laboratory generates isolated attosecond pulses starting from 170-fs industrial ytterbium lasers. By combining nonlinear postcompression, filamentation-assisted waveform reshaping, and high-harmonic generation, we progressively compress light toward the single-cycle and attosecond regime. I will discuss the underlying physics and present applications including ultrafast electron dynamics such as Auger decay, as well as emerging opportunities in EUV semiconductor metrology and nanoscale inspection.
