Specically, the research is focused on momentum exciton in transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers, including intravalley finite momentum exciton and intervalley momentum forbidden dark exciton. Despite the optically dark nature, we shall show that momentum excitons play an essential roles in several fascinating optoelectric phenomena, such as energy transfer in near field optics, structured-light-exciton interaction, and upconversion photoluminescence via exciton-exciton annihilation.
