Title:Engineering Squeezed Thermal Reservoirs: Harnessing Environmental Effects for Quantum Technologies
Abstract:
Quantum systems are highly susceptible to environmental interactions, often resulting in dissipation and the loss of coherence. Squeezing, a quantum phenomenon exhibiting drastically different fluctuations along different quadratures, is a powerful resource in quantum information science. In this talk, I will present a practical method for turning environmental challenges into opportunities by engineering squeezed thermal reservoirs [1]. We will discuss how this technique can be implemented without squeezed light input or complex modulations, making it experimentally accessible. This approach holds promise for various applications, including the enhancement of dissipative squeezing, stabilization of entanglement, advancement of quantum simulations, exploration of quantum thermodynamics and phase transitions, and improvement of precision measurements.
